  1. Wow! Don’t read this if you don’t want a scary book! I think this is a great companion book to Life As We Knew It. I’m interested to find out how you all feel about it.

  2. This book really pulls you in right from the start. It’s intense, and a bit grim in some parts, but very thought provoking. I think it’s written for those at the older end of the Newbery age range, and could also be considered as a Printz selection.

  3. This is one of the best books I have ever read. The characters are very realistic, they all have flaws, and t is fascinating to see how the react under such pressure. The writing style is fantastic, I now think that Susan Beth Pfeffer is one of the most talented writers we have in this country. When you read this book you are drawn in, and you start thinking that the world might come to an end. The ending of the book wraps all of the plot threads up, and while you do not know what happens to the characters, as the human race is dying out the author ended it on the highest note she possibly could. All in all a Newbery winner of I have ever seen one.

  4. This book was truly amazing. I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone who doesn’t like gory books or anything, but I loved it. It could be for ages 11-17, I think. Susan Beth Pfeffer really describes the action and the character’s reactions very well in an understandable way. The writing style is great and I think it could at least come close to winning the Newbery award.

  5. It was so good i always had my face in it. it was also one of the best books i have ever read because of the characters, the setting, and best of all the world was coming to an end.

  6. Ok this book was awesome! The characters were so great and so realistic, probably some of the most realistic characters I have ever read about. There’s plenty of surprises and action, but of course, if you don’t like gory books you may not like this. This is definitely on of the best books I’ve read this year.

  7. This book was very interesting, I definitaly think everyone should read it. It is really thought provoking and makes you think about it. I could definitaly relate to the characters. It also makes you think if the events in this book can really happen. Totally amazing book!!!!!!!

  8. Oh My Goodness. This book was absolutely amazing! It hooked with the first sentence and I couldn’t stop. It was very realistic and definitely made my top 3.
