Summary: Verse from the perspectives of five students in Miss D.’s third grade class details the children’s last year together before their inner city school is to be torn down. 143 p., Wordsong.
I like how this book alternates between many characters, yet tells the same story. It provides many points of view on the situations. Overall I enjoyed this basic, but complex book.
I liked it too. It was very interesting. I finished it very quickly and I don’t know if would have enjoyed it more if it had taken more time for me to read (or if I hadn’t read it so fast). Overall I liked it.
During our First Top 3 Vote, the following comment was made about this book:
“Very heartfelt plot… interesting how it incorporated all the different characters’ points of view. I also liked that the story was written in verse because I think that you can really understand emotions better that way.”
Well, it took me the whole book to figure out the title, but it was worth it.
Interesting writing.
