I liked reading Woven because I like supernatural stuff, but I don’t think it would be a Newbery… The plot was distinguished, I’ll give it that, but the characters were far too stereotypical – I’ve read books with similar/identical characters and that made me not think of it as a Newbery. The setting was pretty decently described but not as clearly as I would have hoped. The plot had lots of twists and turns that kept me reading and I finished it in one sitting, but I was often thinking “Is this princess ever going to straighten up??”
    Overall I’m going to vote no for Newbery, but yes as a good read for seventh grade.
