  1. This book is a fun, enjoyable read about a first daughter whose mother is the president. She feels all alone and isolated until she finds the diary of Alice Roosevelt which helps her workout her life as a first daughter. The author seems to have put a lot of work into it and the book shows it; the characters are realistic and the information is presented well. While I think it is a good book and presented well, It is not quite my top pick for the Newbery Award.
