  1. This book is a good mystery about a girl called Theo who finds a painting she believes is valuable and her quest to find out if it really is as precious as she thinks.
The best part of this book in my opinion is the plot. It’s a good mystery, and although it has no decidedly “evil” characters, there are a few people trying to thwart Theo’s attempts to sell the painting, which adds good tension to the story.
I liked this book and would recommend it to middle-schoolers, but I don’t think it’ll win the Mock Newbery, just based on the other books I’ve read so far this year.
