  1. This was the average book. I connected to the parts where Chia’s sister was involved, and I connected to the parts where Chia was working on her promise to God, but other than those parts I did not like this book. The main charcater was not too flat, she was just so average and pretty much constantly thinking about the same things- boys, disturbing thoughts about breast cancer, and how annoying her sister was, (in that order.) This is not the newbery.

  2. The book was basically what Krista described. Pretty average in all subjects. It was in a normal town, but I wasn’t sure where we were because of the lack of detail. Chia was a normal girl. The plot was pretty mediocre. When I read the back of the book it said it was for ages 8-12. The book should be rated 10& Up at the least. In my opinion, I don’t think it could be a Newbery.
