  1. This is rare, a book written by two people, both main authors are sisters. If my sister and I tried writing a book together, one of us would quit. Anyway, personal opinion, I liked it; for me, it was a pleasurable read. However, I wouldn’t choose this book for a honor, or a medal. Kind of unoriginal plot and setting, but I liked the characters. In the beginning, the characters were cold, while the main character was trying to win their friendship. Not much else to say about this book, except for it was a fun read.

  2. I loved this book! I really liked the plot and I thought the Menagerie was a very interesting and magical place. The characters were interesting, too. Out of all the books I’ve read so far, this book would probably be my favorite. This is definitely a contender for me.

    1. When I read the book I totally agreed with Olivia. Though I have to agree with Benjamin about how the setting was unoriginal. But the plot was totally unpredictable. I am kind of table-topped between if it could be a Newbery because of the slight cliff-hanger at the end.
