  1. Just a heads up, the Water Castle was chosen for the July book of the month for the Goodreads Mock Newbery award. I will be reading it this month.

  2. I liked this book, but I didn’t really get into the book or care about what happened to the characters. I think they could have been more developed. The plot was a good idea, but I think the author could have embellished it and made it more interesting. I wouldn’t say that this is Newbery.

  3. The best part of this book was the characters. Ephraim, Mallory, and Will made this book an enjoyable read. Even the minor characters had a story behind them, and a personality. But the plot itself just didn’t seem Newbery worthy. It seemed like the setting was a little confusing, along with the plot.
