  1. This book was better than If Only, but not as good as Laugh With the Moon. Sometimes these kind of books are depressing, but this one was not as depressing as others because of the humor and the way the author talked about things other than the death of Daniel’s brother, like in If Only I thought it foccused too much on her mothers death. After Eli is a great book, however there was nothing wonderful that stuck out like in Laugh With Moon i liked the writing style a lot. This is not my pick for the newbery.
