Summary: A boy, a dog, and an old man are lonely before the boy plans a rally, the dog looks for a boy, and all the townspeople run to the old man’s aid when lightning strikes his home and something miraculous happens.

  1. It had great detail and some smaller plot twists. Some of the characters were well developed. the plot was not the most original but I still found it an enjoyable read.

  2. It wasn’t very interesting. Maybe it would be better for younger kids. I don’t think it should win the newbery.

  3. It was a cute quick read. The characters were nice but it is your classic kid wants a dog book. I don’t think that it would win Newbery.
