Summary:  Accused of ruining a champion dog’s career after an unfortunate incident at a mall show, Luthor is sent to the pound, prompting a skeptical Griffin to hatch a daring plan involving a sinister saboteur, a reclusive trainer, and large supply of red dye.

  1. I have to agree with what Ethan said at the meeting. The characters were flatter than in most of the other books in this series and I did expect a bit more from Korman. And even though it is a fiction book, it could be more realistic. Overall, I don’t think it could win.

  2. I agree with Benjamin. I have not read any of the books in the series other then this so I didn’t understand where all these random people were coming from. I don’t think it could win.

  3. I didn’t read any of the other books but I understood everything. Maybe if I had read them I would have understood more but the other books aren’t necessary, in my opinion.

    1. This book is categorized as “Not Newbery” because at a recent meeting no one thought it was the best book so far. If you would like to convince us to put it back on our reading list, we will do that. YOu should have specific examples to compare with other books to show it is better in Newbery criteria.
