Summary: Here, in high style, is the story of a wisecracking adventurer who came of age in the untamed West. A rebel who surprised himself by becoming the most famous American of his time. 224 p., Greenwillow Books.
This book actually covers Mark Twain’s entire life, although it emphasizes his years in the west. It describes events and influences that shaped Twain’s writing and helps you understand his literary works. It was interesting, but the style was not as straightforward as I expected a biography to be.
It was interesting, but I thought that it skipped around too much at the beginning. I also agree with Ms. Lisa about how it was not as straightforward as I thought it could be. So I don’t think it will win, but it is still intersting and will not leave you bored.
