It is definitely written for beginner readers (I hope I spelled beginner right) but I think it needs the pictures to show what the words don’t explain. For that reason, I don’t think it’s Newbery.

Sharon Creech is one of my most favorite authors and I enjoy reading her books. It is the same with this one although, I don’t think it was her best work, it was still good. Definitely a different point of view.

I loved how the author kept you enraptured into both plots equally. Usually, I like one plot more than the other, but this book made an exception. I learned so much about an event I had not really heard about and I learned it in an entertaining way. It could be Honor.

This book will stick with you long after you’ve finished reading it. It’s a very clear portrayal of the emotions and realities involved in having a family member with traumatic brain injuries.

I thought this book was fun and I could definitly relate to it! I didn’t like the ending, I thought it just dropped. I enjoyed it but don’t think it could win the Newbery. Maybe an honor award.
