I found it interesting that the prequel to this book, Dead End in Norvelt, won the real Newbery award. And even though this book is a sequel book, it still made sense and stood alone; however, I don’t think this book will win the Mock Newbery. I had trouble relating to some of the characters, so it was difficult for me to really get into this book.
