I loved this book! It was fast paced and exciting, and I’ve never read a story like it. I wanted it to go on forever, and was disappointed when it ended.
HOWEVER, the characters seemed to be flat. They didn’t evolve over the course of the story, and I didn’t get a better feel for what they were like. The main character didn’t seem to have any flaws. He was just a sterreotypical, brave hero. There was nothing about the writing, characters, or plot that I would call “distinguished”.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book but would be very surprised if it won the Newbery award. Still, if you enjoy exciting fantasy, READ IT!!!!
